Created as part of PHA’s inaugural Artists Celebration, the ceramic beans are made possible through the PHA Ceramics Studio’s state-of-the-art fabrication facilities and equipment. The unique glazes on each ceramic bean capture the bean type’s colorful resemblance.

About this bean: The Prairie Appaloosa is a beautiful, mottled heirloom from the Southwestern United States and Mexico. The variety is also called “Zuni Shalako.” The Zuni tribe grew this bean and used it in their winter ceremony where it was given to the Shalako Kachina.
